Dozens of protesters gathered in London to call on Kabila to step down, after mass protests in the Democratic Republic of Congo turned deadly on 19 September. At least 17 people were killed after huge protests in the DRC capital Kinshasa. Kabila is due to step down from the presidency on 19 December, but it is widely thought he intends to remain in power past this deadline.
