Apple to Roll out iPhone 7 on September 7

Apple is expected to launch the new iPhone generation next month, and now, thanks to people with knowledge of the matter, we also have a date when this could happen.

Bloomberg reports that September 7 is very likely to be the day when Apple will take the wraps off the new iPhone, but what’s important to know is that this is only the unveiling date, and not the one when the device will become available for purchase.

Citing sources familiar with Apple’s plans, Bloomberg writes that “the new MacBook Pros aren’t likely to debut at an event currently scheduled for September 7 to introduce the next-generations versions of the iPhone,” so Apple is expected to use this event for the new iPhone exclusively.

Sales starting in the week of September 12?
Evan Blass, who keeps good track of information about unreleased mobile phones, including Apple’s iPhone, said in July that Cupertino planned to launch the new model in the week of September 12. Given this new Bloomberg report, this is very likely to be the time when pre-orders of the new device could begin.

There are certainly many unknown details about the unveiling of the new iPhone, as there are sources claiming that the Apple Watch 2 could also be presented alongside this device, but for the moment, there’s still no confirmation from Cupertino (which obviously keeps everything secret and doesn’t want to spill the beans ahead of the public launch).

Furthermore, there are many rumors regarding the name of the iPhone, as Blass himself has suggested that it’s unlikely to be called “iPhone 7,” since Apple wants to hold back this name for the 2017 model that’ll celebrate the 10th anniversary of the iPhone.

As a result, names such as iPhone 6 SE are making more sense now, but once again, take everything with a little bit of skepticism, given Apple’s typical secrecy regarding upcoming products.
