Manchester City have reportedly began negotiations with Real Madrid for Spanish midfielder[greenalert] Isco[/greenalert].

The 23-year-old has been tipped to make way from the Bernabeu in January having struggled to earn sufficient playing time since his red card in the El Clasico last month.

Spanish source Fichajes claims that City chief Ferran Soriano has been in contact with Los Blancos in a bid to speed up the player's transfer to the Etihad.

Should the move go through as planned, manager Manuel Pellegrini will be reunited with his former Malaga star.

Isco joined Real Madrid from Malaga in the summer of 2013.
