No less than 11 persons were killed on Monday, in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital following a suicide bomb attack at Muna Garage, a vegetable market and motor park along Customs area of the metropolis.

Traders around the motor park told DAILY POST that the suicide bomber, a female around 15 years of age, killed 11 people when she detonated a bomb at the crowded area.

Earlier, officials of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) said 9 people were killed in the explosion.

The Police could not confirm the number of casualty but traders and emergency workers told newsmen that, they have evacuated 23 people to the State Specialist Hospital, including 11 dead persons.

Amina Hassan, one of the people who participated in the evacuation told our correspondent that the teenage girl was seen going up and down by traders before she finally detonated the explosive, which left 11 people, including herself dead.

?It is a sad situation but there is nothing we could do as the situation keeps changing from one dimension to another. We can only pray for better days ahead?, he said.
