Atleast 42 poeple has been killed in a collision between a bus and truck near the southwestern town of Libourne, officials said. The bus caught fire in the crash on Friday morning. An official with the national gendarme service said eight injured people were taken to hospital and the death toll may rise. The official said scores of emergency workers in the region have been mobilised to the scene.  French radio reported that the bus was carrying senior citizens going on vacation. It was not immediately clear how many people were on the bus. The incident was said to be France's worst road accident since 1981.
