Apple to drop the home button in future iPhones

The ever constant home button on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch has been there since the introduction of the original iPhone in 2007. It?s instantly recognizable and the version on Apple?s latest devices boast Touch ID integration ? but it seems as though its days are numbered.

According to the latest reports emanating from Taiwan, where Digitimes? sources have stated that Apple is working on different options which will remove the home button from future devices. It claims Apple is in the midst of developing touch and display divers in one single chip solution which also feature an integrated fingerprint scanner, specifically for future iPhones.

The report doesn?t stop with just the home button. It continues on to claim that the removal of the home button will allow Apple to reduce its bezel size above and below the display giving you more screen and much less filler. There isn?t any facts that suggest this tech is already available and it is unlikely to make its debut with this year?s iPhone 6S.

The public shouldn?t get too excited, wait until we are nearing September to get more concrete evidence of the new iPhone. This specific technology is a few years of so I don?t expect to see it any time soon.
