The Katsina State Governor, Ibrahim Shema was roundly condemned in strong terms by the European Union (EU) and United States on Thursday for his political campaign speech which was viewed as being tailored to motivate violence against political opponents.

Urging Nigerians to work towards ensuring peaceful elections in 2015, while briefing newsmen in Abuja, Mr Michel Arrion, EU Ambassador and Head of Delegation to Nigeria and ECOWAS, called on political  actors in the country to desist from using hate speeches and shun violence.
