Microsoft has released a new update for Office insiders, this time providing an early look at the improvements coming to iPhones ahead of the public launch later this month.
The August 2018 feature update for Office pushes the version number to 2.16 (180731) on iOS, and includes improvements for Outlook only. There are no new features for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint this month.
While it’s a rather light update, the August 2018 does include new functionality that could come in handy, including options to block external images in Outlook.
This means that whenever you receive new emails, external photos won’t be loaded unless you specifically allow it, so emails will load faster and trackers would no longer work. Some senders use external links to figure out whether you opened their emails, so this is definitely a welcome improvement for Outlook users.
Additionally, Microsoft is updating the group card with information about past and upcoming group events. This should help stay up-to-date with new appointments involving specific groups easily.
