The centres are Federal Medical Centre, Owo for the northern senatorial district, State Specialist Hospital, Akure for the central senatorial district and the State Specialist Hospital, Okitipupa to take care of the south.

The commissioner also said that the State would train 30 barrier nurses that would serve at the 3 designated centres.

He also said that health facilities across the state would be strengthened with necessary equipment to prevent the spread of the disease into the state.

Adeyanju lamented that the Ebola virus scourge reared its ugly head at a time that the state was about to get to zero level HIV/AIDS prevalence.

He, however, said government would not fold it arms and allow the disease to ravage the people, saying this necessitated the step being taken in the form of an interactive forum to sensitise the people about the deadly virus.

According to him, the state Public Health Care, (PHC), Hospital Management Board (HMB), Ministry of Health, and the private practitioners would collaborate to fight the disease.

He said,?if we choose not to do anything, it may be more dangerous than Boko Haram; we must strengthen our surveillance; we should be on our toes to wage
serious war against the disease in our state in particular and our country in general?.

The executive secretary, Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Board, Olugbenga Osunmakinwa, said the programme was part of the efforts of government at ensuring that no case of the disease was recorded in the state.
