Alvaro Morata agrees to join Manchester United

Alvaro Morata has reportedly agreed personal terms with Manchester United and will now wait for the two clubs to agree on a fee before completing his move.
The 24-year-old was the subject of a 52.3 million bid from the Red Devils that was rejected by Real Madrid. According to the Telegraph, Morata has now agreed to join Manchester United ahead of an improved 60 million bid which should be able to seal the deal.

Morata did not enjoy much playing time for Los Blancos as he played second fiddle to first-choice striker Karim Benzema for the majority of the season. Still, in only 14 starts in the league, Morata scored 15 times.

Despite winning the La Liga and Champions League, Morata was not satisfied with his involvement this past season. His agent, Juanma Lopez, was quoted by the Telegraph as saying: "It was a great season, but he wants to play more. It's not enough."

With the World Cup in Russia approaching next year, Morata desperately wants first-team football and believes Mourinho will give him the playing time he desires.

AC Milan seemed to have also registered their interest but the player ruled out a move to the Serie A saying he would only return to play for Juventus.

This places Manchester United in pole position and the aforementioned 60 million should conclude this deal. Real Madrid themselves are resigned to losing Morata and are looking to Monaco's Kylian Mbappe as a replacement.
