Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez could reportedly be heading for a fresh challenge this summer with Bayern Munich planning to lodge an approach for his services.
The Chile international has netted 21 goals and assisted a further 11 in the Premier League this season, but this has not been sufficient to guarantee the Gunners their annual top-four finish.

Bayern have fallen short of their Champions League challenge due to their lack of sufficient thrust upfront, and Carlo Ancelotti will look to resolve the issue by lodging a move for Sanchez.

According to The Express, via Bild, the Bavarian giants are moving a step closer to the Chilean attacker after having held fruitful negotiations with his representative.

Sanchez is eager to showcase his talents in Europe's top competition next season, and for this, he may have to move on with the Gunners no longer assured of an easy passage to the top four.

Arsenal are currently placed fifth in the Premier League standings with 69 points, three behind Manchester City, and four behind Liverpool, who have played a game more.

Wins for both Liverpool and Manchester City in the remaining games, will see Arsenal begin their campaign in the Europa League for the first time in 20 years.
