Google has announced that it added a new feature for users who come across spotty network connections. The new feature would allow users to store Google searches offline and get the results when network connection is available.

Shekhar Sharad, Google Product Manager, announced in a blog post that Google added new search features for when network connection goes down. The new feature allows users to type in their searches in the Google app for Android and scroll through results when connection is available.

The feature is especially useful for users who encounter spotty connections on their travels or commute. Search results are saved even if the user loses connection afterward or enables airplane mode.

The new feature won’t have a major impact on data usage
The Google app constantly monitors the phone until connection is available and then delivers the search results. Google also mentions that the new feature won’t have a major impact on data usage or battery life. The feature only works in the latest Google app version, so users should update their applications beforehand.

The app lets you store as many offline searches as you want and check out the queue in the new “manage searches” section on the sidebar of the Google app. Offline retrieval can be turned off from inside the app, but the feature does offer enhanced functionality. Google already started the rollout of the new feature in its Google app for Android.

The search giant continues to update its proprietary apps, and a few days ago it announced that it brought back the Events section in Google+ social networking platform. The feature lets users create and join events on Google+, but it’s not available for G Suite users at this time.

The application also received a new feature for automatically hiding low-quality comments so that users could focus on messages that matter the most.
