Lil Wayne Set To Sign Record Deal With Jay Z

Lil Wayne has had a rough couple of years on the music front as far as his recording contract goes, and his fans have been left confused. While the Young Money founder has spent the last two years trying to free himself of his ties with Birdman and Cash Money, the hip hop community has been itching for answers. At the Camp Flog Gnaw Festival this past weekend, Weezy took to his stage set to take another shot at Cash Money, but he surprised fans with a new statement.

While performing his hit track “I’m Me,” the rap mogul changed up some of his lyrics to imply that he may have new ties with Jay Z and the Roc-A-Fella brand. The original line of the song is supposed to say, “I’m a motherf—ing Cash Money millionaire,” but Weezy replaced the lyrics with “I’m a motherf—ing Roc-A-Fella millionaire.” Once the footage of Wayne spitting the line hit the Internet, fans started speculating whether he had signed a deal with Hov and his Roc Nation label.
During his set, Wayne also threw up the Roc, which is the signature symbol of the former hip hop label. We’re still not receiving any clarification on the New Orleans MC’s statements, but Miami producer, Infamous, added some more clues to the mysterious speculation while responding to a fan on Twitter.

Last year, you may recall that Weezy F. Baby announced that he signed a deal with his “motherf—ing idol Jay Z,” with many believing he finally cut ties with Cash Money. It was later revealed that the deal was between him and Hov’s music-streaming service, Tidal, as an artist owner. Could he have signed with Jay’s Roc Nation label this time around?
