There have been reports swirling since last week that Mariah Carey and her billionaire beau, James Packer, have broken up and depending on which publication you read, you’ll see different reasons as to why. Now, Mimi has broken her silence on social media and is calling out the tabloid which started the split rumor.

Carey took to Instagram over the weekend and posted a photo of her and her pal, Stella Bulochnikov, sharing a hug. The caption of the two ladies together read, “#realfriends who don’t read Woman’s Day #wedontknowyou. We love you #Australianlambs 😘.”

The post was a direct shot at the Australian tabloid, Woman’s Day, which claimed that Packer dumped Carey over out of control spending and other reasons pertaining to her upcoming reality show.

The diva was not a fan of the accusations made about her in that story and wanted to set things straight by releasing a statement on her relationship status via her rep.

“Mariah and James had a fight in Greece, and have not seen each other since. The fight was not because of any cheating allegations or excessive spending by Mariah,” Carey’s rep said. “They are trying to work it out. Right now, they’re not sure if they will stay together.”

The pair got engaged last January.
