Facebook has announced that it will be rolling out an updated version of Messenger, one that will contain instant videos. The new feature will be available in Facebook Messenger for both Android and iOS, and it will allow users to share content more easily.
Instant Video has been a feature of Snapchat for quite some time now, and it seems that Facebook Messenger has finally decided to include a similar tool in its Android and iOS applications. The new feature will allow users to share quick videos.

The video call opens up in a floating window, on top of the messaging session. It can be initiated by users tapping on the VOIP call icon at the top right corner of the screen, the same that was previously used for starting a video call.

A direct video feed is then opened in a floating window. While the video plays, users can still text inside the Messenger window. Videos will play by default with the sound off, but with a simply tap, it can be turned on if needed. Participants in a conversation need to have the latest Facebook Messenger version installed in order to use Instant Video.

Just recently, Facebook has made its video calling feature available worldwide. Users are able to place calls using the Messenger application to any of their friends. Video calling could come in handy when wanting to send an Instant Video, and the receiver doesn't seem to be online.
