APC lambaste Fayose over Aisha Buhariís US trip
« on: August 08, 2016, 06:50:43 AM »

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ekiti State yesterday said the trip by the wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari to the United States of America, US, has exposed Governor Ayodele Fayose as a ďman lacking in integrity to hold the responsible position of the governor of Ekiti StateĒ, over his insistence that she could not travel to the US for fear of arrest over alleged involvement in the Halliburton scandal.

Fayose had in relentless assault on President Muhammadu Buhari accused him of shielding his wife from investigations into Halliburton scandal in the United States in which he alleged that Aisha Buhari was mentioned.

The Presidency denied the charge, saying the Presidentís wife knew nothing about the scandal. Responding, Fayose in company of his media aides told reporters that his allegation was right, challenging the Presidentís wife to visit America whether she would not be arrested over the allegation.

But APC spokesman, Taiwo Olatunbosun, said in a statement yesterday that the visit of the Presidentís wife to America last week has exposed the governor as a ďliar.Ē He said the Presidentís wife did not only visit America, but also met with the United States governmentís top leaders, United Nationís officials and several NGOs that promised her cash and materials in aid of the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, in the North East.

Describing the governorís public conduct as a collective shame to Ekiti people, Olatunbosun urged him to resign his position because of his lack of discretion in managing a responsible position of authority, arguing that Ekiti people do not deserve a leader without respect among Nigerians over his indecent conduct, including recklessly lies telling as well as other unbecoming behaviours that were disgraceful to the integrity of the people of Ekiti State.

Olatunbosun said the governor had become jittery over sundry cases hanging on his neck and so had embarked on a battle for survival, using vile means to destabilise the APC by blackmailing its leaders and turning them against one another.
