Nigeria and South Africa had always been friendly nations with the former having played a significant role during the anti-apartheid struggle.
However, with the recent botched arms deal and the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) building collapse in which over 100 South Africans died, this perceived business and diplomatic ties seem to have become strained.
The Federal Government of Nigeria is accusing South African Authorities of intentionally frustrating its war against terrorism in the North Eastern part of the country. This is owing to the fact that the $5.7 million arms deal passed through the banks unlike the first which S/africa authorities claim contravened their laws
