Zlatan Ibrahimovich announces Manchester United move

The ego has landed. On Thursday, Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovich confirmed he's heading to Manchester on a one-year deal - with an option for more. The move reunites him with an equally demure ex-coach.

Ordinarily it's the clubs that announce new signings. But nothing is ordinary when Zlatan Ibrahimovich is concerned.
In a latter day equivalent of Napoleon crowning himself, the 34-year-old striker and media icon confirmed via Twitter that he's joining Manchester United.

Ibrahimovich's contract with his former club Paris St. Germain expired on Thursday. The striker scored 152 goals in 178 matches and won four straight domestic titles with the Parisian giants but has hinted for months that he was interested in moving to the English Premier League.
The move to Manchester reunites Ibrahimovich with José Mourinho, who coached him at Inter Milan in Italy.
Ibrahimovich has played for Malmo, Ajax, Juventus and Barcelona, but this is the first time for him in England. Ibrahimovich retired from international competition last week when Sweden were knocked out of Euro 2016.
