Microsoft to rollout Windows 10 Mobile in March

Microsoft wants the Windows 10 Mobile rollout to take place in two different stages in order to make sure that everything goes smoothly.

The first phase of the release will take place ?passively,? the source writes, and users will have to manually get the upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile on their Windows Phone devices. This means that handsets running Windows Phone won?t benefit from the upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile automatically, and users will have to follow a number of steps to receive the new bits.

The second phase will push Windows 10 Mobile to Windows Phone handsets automatically, but it?s not yet clear when this is scheduled to happen.
"Second phase later this year"

The March target could only include the first phase while the second could kick off later this year, as Microsoft continues work on the operating system.

There is no mention as to which devices will get the upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile, as people close to the matter previously said that the software giant wanted to release the operating system in waves, so only a few models were supposed to get it at first. Lumia 640, 640 XL, 830, 930, and 1520 were believed to be included in the first wave getting the upgrade.

Certainly, in the context of the previous missed targets for Windows 10 Mobile, Windows Phone users can hardly believe any new rumor regarding the launch date, but given the fact that Microsoft?s own target was ?early 2016,? the March unveiling could actually make sense.

But obviously, it?s safer to take everything with a healthy pinch of salt for the moment, especially because there is no public confirmation from the company itself.
