Mourinho quit Chelsea

Chelsea have announced that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club by mutual consent.
The 52-year-old rejoined as the Blues' manager in 2013, and led them to the Premier League title last season.

However, the Blues have suffered a complete reversal in form this term, and find themselves in a run on nine defeats in 16 league outings.

Speculation had claimed that the Premier League holders would be re-evaluating Mourinho's position in the coming days, and it is now known that they have mutually cut ties with the Portuguese head coach following a meeting with the board this afternoon.

Former manager Guus Hiddink looks the likely candidate to take over the managerial reigns at Stamford Bridge for the season.

Chelsea currently sit 16th in the league with just 15 points.
