Three men docked for allegedly raping 15-year-old girl in Lagos

An Apapa Chief Magistrates? Court, Monday, remanded three men, Ebuka Anosike, 20, Qaudri Yekini, 23 and Moses Osagie, 23, in prison custody for allegedly raping an unidentified 15-year-old girl.

The defendants, who committed the alleged offences between September and October 2015, before they were reportedly apprehended on October 11, are facing a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, unlawful carnal knowledge and sexual assault preferred against them by the police.

According to the prosecutor, Inspector Tony Idibe, the defendants reside at Yaya Crescent, Ajegunle, Olodi Apapa area of Lagos.


Idibie told the court that the incident occurred at the residence of the defendants at about 11:50pm.

The prosecutor also added that according to the defendants; before they were caught on October 11, they also attempted to rape the victim, by touching her private parts and also holding her without her consent.

The offence, Idibie said, is punishable under section 409 and 258(1) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.

However, the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.


The court Magistrate, T. Abolarinwa, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200, 000 with one responsible surety each in like sum.
