Boko Haram Twin Bomb Attack Kills 15 , Injured scores in Abuja
« on: October 03, 2015, 12:32:13 PM »

Following the multiple bomb blasts that hit two major satellite towns of Abuja- Nyanya and Kuje at about 9:40 p.m, on Friday, 15 persons have been confirmed killed while several others substained various degrees of injuries.

According to NEMA Press Officer, Mr Manzo Ezekiel who confirmed the report, while 13 were killed in Kuje, 2 people lost their lives in the Nyanya blast. It has equally been confirmed that about 17 people sustained varied degrees of injuries at the Kuje blasts.

According to eyewitnesses, the Nyanya explosive went off at the Jikwoyi Park, Nyanya ?Under bridge? as it is usually called, on the popular Abuja-Keffi Expressway.

DAILY POST recalls that the late Friday incident is the third to have been recorded in Nyanya. Two previous incidents with heavy casualties were witnessed there sometime in 2014.

Last night?s blast was however the first to have hit Kuje area since Boko Haram began their attacks on Abuja. The Kuje blast occurred at the popular Kuje market and the police station.

When NAIJACRUX REPORTER visited the scenes of the blasts on Saturday morning, the scenes had already been cordoned off by a combined team of security operatives, including officials of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, National Emergency Management Agency, soldiers, Federal Road Safety Corps and policemen.

Some onlookers at the Nyanya blast scene said rescue workers recovered some corpses with missing parts from the scene and that pieces of human flesh were evacuated as victims were torn into pieces.

However, our correspondent reports from the Kuje blast scene that pieces of human flesh were still being packed into cartons by the security operatives as weepy inhabitants gazed. All efforts to get photos of the scene were abortive as the security operatives were at alert, keeping onlookers as far as possible from the scene.
