In this recent BBC interview, President Jonathan boasted that he would win this weekend?s presidential election.

With the presidential elections scheduled to take place in 6 days, Mr. Jonathan told the BBC in an interview that he has nothing to worry about, as his ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, remains the strongest party in Nigeria despite the seeming nationwide support for the opposition All Progressives Congress.

?I will surely win it? My party is still the strongest party?, the president said.

However President Goodluck Jonathan also made an admission that he is not in charge of the military and he could not speak for them.

His admission of powerlessness followed the interviewer?s barrage of questions on what the government used the yearly $5 billion security budget for, the whereabouts of the kidnapped Chibok schoolgirls and why it took so long for Nigeria, the ?giant of Africa?, to embark on retaking territories lost to Boko Haram.

President Jonathan did not have any convincing explanation, except to say: I am not in charge.
