world Health Organization?s Ranking of the World?s Health Systems ranks nigeria a lowly 187 out of 190 sampled countries.

Well, we used to be one of the best.... Back in 1960, The Ashby Commission on Higher education at Independence described higher education in Nigeria as good as the very best in the world. Sir Eric Ashby indeed suggested that in 1962 it was easier to get into Harvard than the University of Ibadan, and the University College Hospital, Ibadan was ranked Third best in the Commonwealth, ahead of most Teaching Hospitals in Britain. Saudi Princes came there with Health challenges but in recent times our President, Umaru Yar?adua all but died in a Saudi Hospital. It is no wonder a Professor of medicine from the University of Lagos, Professor Tayo, recently described our health care system as a ??man made disaster?.
