A police officer attached to the Kano Police Command who shot dead an infant on Sunday in kano state, is cooling his feet in detention in Bompai headquarters of the command, according to the police spokesman, ASP Musa Majiya.

Majiya said the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Adenrele Shinaba in charge of the command ordered that the suspected police officer be disarmed and currently facing orderly room charge.

He said the AIG vowed to punish the officer after the outcome of the trial, warning policemen in the command to be of good conduct or will be dealt with decisively, noting that the police regulation, force order 237 stated clearly when a police officer should use his firearm.
