The United Nations (UN) yesterday backed the six weeks postponement of the 2015 general polls, saying it now understood clearly why the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) decided to shift the polls.

Representative of the UN secretary general for Nigeria and West Africa, Mr Ibn Chambers who disclosed this when he conveyed a message from Mr Ban Ki Moon to President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa, Abuja said the UN is also strongly behind Nigeria in the war against Boko Haram.
