Samsung launched the Galaxy Note10 earlier this week with a bunch of major improvements, but it looks like the South Koreans are also working on some exciting upgrades for less expensive models too.

A photo published by GalaxyClub reveals the battery of what could be the upcoming M20S, a new model that is expected to see daylight in the coming months.

While the smartphone itself is less likely to catch your attention, the actual capacity of the battery can easily do that. This is a 6,000 mAh battery, and as you can see in the leaked picture, it’s not bigger than the typical unit that you find in today’s smartphones.

If you still didn’t get what this means, we’ll say it in plain English: a 6,000 mAh battery that has the same size as a regular unit can make its way to other smartphone models in Samsung’s lineup as well, including flagships like the Galaxy S.

This means the battery of these phones will be nearly double the one of the iPhone XS, which features a 2658 mAh capacity.

Mysterious device
Samsung is apparently pushing hard for expanded battery capacity, and this can only be good news, especially because, as per this leaked photo, the company can seemingly do this without the need for more space inside phones.

As for the M20S mentioned above, very little is known at this point. The product code of the battery is EB-BM207ABY, so I expect the model number of the upcoming phone to be SM-M207.

The device could get the green light in the coming months and be aimed specifically at the mid-range market.

On the other hand, if you are eager to see this large battery in the Galaxy S11, it’s too early to discuss such upgrades on the next flagship phone. Samsung is expected to launch the S11 in the first months of 2020, so we’re approximately a half of year away from its public unveiling.
