A 30-year-old man identified as Aniemeka Nwani on Sunday night slaughtered his two younger brothers, Kingsley and Nwayo in Edo State.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, a family source on Monday said Aniemeka killed his brothers with a machete.

The source who pleaded anonymity stated the suspect had been a patient at a psychiatric home in Uselu in Edo State. He allegedly killed his siblings after a family meeting with their widowed mother.

He said the widow, a Permanent Secretary in the Delta civil service, had returned from Canada where the daughter lives two weeks ago, after a medical check-up.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Delta, (DSP) Andrew Aniamaka, who confirmed the incident to NAN,
described it as tragic, adding that investigation is ongoing.
