4 Ways To Gain Backlinks Using Social Media

We were talking recently in one of our articles that link building was a very effective technique if you want to enhance your natural ranking on search engines. We would now dig deeper in this direction by offering a video presented by Rand Fishkin, founder of Moz, which reveals his favorite tactics to get quality inbound links through social media that are an excellent source . Indeed in a digital strategy Inbound marketing, it is essential that your website is as accessible as possible for future clients seeking information.
What is link building in SEO?

The link building is a strategy to influence the ranking of your blog or website on search engines, getting on other blogs or websites as yours, links back to your own website. These links are called "inbound links" or backlinks. The number and quality of backlinks provide a level of importance to your page, which will be considered for indexing in search engines.
PS: If you have grasped the meaning of this definition, so you will notice that we have to offer an incoming link to the site Moz, which will therefore see its credibility (somewhat) enhanced on search engines.

Here without further delay 4 tips Rand Fishkin to get quality inbound links by being active on social networks, where the presence is imperative today in good company:

1. Interact on social networks at the earliest and regularly

You want to comment on an article or blog post in the hope of gaining more visibility? You are absolutely right, this is one of the most common techniques to get inbound links (called How Marketing). Nevertheless, to the extent possible, we recommend that you do so as soon as possible and regularly. Why?

• Interact at the earliest because, especially when you want to get a link from a site or a popular brand, being among the first five to respond to a post on Facebook or Google+ will give you more chance to be noticed by the writer of the article or community manager;

• Interact regularly because it's a great way to easily create a backlinking network and thus improve its position in search engines. Important: When you apply this strategy, make sure your comment adds value to the discussion. Avoid messages like "Great article, thank you very much" that strictly useless and betray a lack of subtlety and expertise on your part. If you are not a spammer, do not act like one!

• How to submit relevant comments? For example by additional research, including a link that completes the article, asking relevant questions that allow further reflection, etc. The secret is to stand out from the other comments to arouse the curiosity of the author who will look to you, click on your profile and visit your blog. Then, once you have drawn the attention of the author, offer your help. For example, submit one of your graphics summarizing his views and offer her that he includes in his article. If it is relevant and useful, the author will use it and will reward you with a beautiful backlink to your site. Bingo.

2. Locate the target likely to bring you backlinks

If you get into a link building campaign, it is likely that you know exactly who you want to get your incoming links. In this case, you opt for a similar strategy as described in point 1. If you are not sure who to target, then make use of research tools profiles or biographies as Followerwonk (for Twitter profiles) , advanced research profiles on LinkedIn or Find people on Plus (G + for profiles), to locate active people in your niche. With Followerwonk for example, it is possible to use advanced search options extremely useful that will help you find the Twitter profiles of people who follow your personal feed, AND also follow the feed of your company, making it certainly excellent targets for your link building strategy.

3. Create content that will attract the attention of your target

Imagine you own a blog specializing in travel on the Internet and in one of your articles, you analyze the prices of airline tickets on Hipmunk and Kayak, two of the market leaders. To get their attention and expect some backlinks, what would you do? For example, try to tweet something like: "I have analyzed andHipmunkKayak, here is the URL". There is a safe bet that the Community managers at Hipmunk and Kayak will visit your blog and if your content is interesting to them (read: they are the cheapest), they will approve your message with a Retweet, a statement or comment. Exactly what you are looking for, is not it? Remember, we already discussed this technique in a previous article that explained how a young graduate landed the job of her dreams. She had written an article about a company she particularly admired (HubSpot) and published on Twitter by including the hashtag #HireMeHubspot. Read the article How inbound marketing can help you land the job of your dreams.
Create interesting content for your target is extremely important in an Inbound Marketing strategy in that, if you've allowed them to learn information, advice that directly affect them, your future potential customers are more likely to make you trust and will give you more credit.

4. Collect latent links

Finally, when you have built a large online community after your hard work and commitment of producing quality content, you will notice that you will not necessarily need to go hunting for backlinks: you will get naturally. And this is normal, because the more you will be perceived as an expert in your field, the more your publications will be retweeted, shared, liked or republished or cited in other articles. This is what happens to the "gurus" like Guy Kawasaki, for example generating thousands of backlinks for each of its publications ... That's all we want you!

Again, the quality of your posts is central to the success of your SEO, the top positions of search engines deserve! And you, do you use other strategies to get backlinks through social media?
