John Holt Plc - What is today a giant business group was in fact the pioneering effort of one man. The story began in 1862 when John Holt, just under 21 years old, with ?27 in his pocket, sailed from Liverpool to take up appointment as a shop assistant in a grocery store in Fernando Po (now Equitorial Guinea). Five years later, he bought out his employer and subsequently built up a produce trade with the Delta Ports. Palm Oil, Palm Kernels, Rubber and Cocoa were exported to England. Imports included textiles from Lancashire and bicycles from Birmingham. In 1897, John Holt established his first VENTURE in Lagos.
John Holt & Company (Liverpool) Limited was incorporated in 1897. In 1961 the company was incorporated in Nigeria as John Holt Limited. It became a public company and was quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in May, 1974.

We want a top flight sales staff for exciting opportunities in Lagos, Port Harcourt & North (based in Kano, Kaduna or Abuja). The candidate should have a successful career record to date with proven ability in safety equipment sales including fire trucks, oil/gas and public undertakings. There are also opportunities for overseas travel and substantial earnings from commission, training from our foreign partners etc.
Summary of Role/Responsibility
Provide multi sales support for the various brands of products and services.
Generate profitable orders, add new clients to existing list.
Develop, evaluate feasibility of marketing plan to achieve higher sales/revenue, profit and market share for each line of our products
Provide monthly market price report on key products
Maintain sound business relationship with internal and external customers
Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly report, including branch budgets
Coordinate sales records
Any other job incidental to this position.
Sales Manager will work with other group managers to achieve the set target, but primarily responsible for developing his market and clientele.
To capture market share in key product lines.
Contribute to increasing revenue and profit.
Re-establish and promote the benefits of using our franchises.
Cost management commensurate with level of sales activities.

Market share and volume growth
Contribution to revenue and profits.
Promptness and accuracy of monthly sales/ marketing report
Creation and updating of a result-oriented marketing database in the region.
