Jennifer Lopez has teamed up with New York governor Andrew Cuomo to announce that she will personally donate $1 million to the ongoing relief efforts in Puerto Rico after the island was devastated by the impact of Hurricane Maria.
At a press conference on Sunday (Sept. 24), Lopez said that her donation will come from proceeds of her Las Vegas revue, All I Have. She also added that she is working with Mark Cuban and other celebrities who have coordinated two airplanes full of supplies, including generators, that are ready to fly to the island.

“Alex Roriguez and I, who are both New Yorkers, are using all our resources and relationships in entertainment, sports and business to garner support for Puerto Rico and the Caribbean,” said Lopez.
The entertainer also urged her fans to donate to the relief efforts as well. “Today, Puerto Rico needs our help,” she said (via E! News). “I urge you to support and donate to the efforts (UnitedforPuertoRico.com) of the first lady of Puerto Rico, Beatriz Rosselló. Together we can help rebuild our island and the Caribbean.”

Sadly, during the press conference, Lopez also revealed that she still hasn’t heard from her family in Puerto Rico and that she is “concerned” for them and “everyone on the island.”
Several other Latin artists have personally donated to the relief efforts and have teamed up to host telethons through networks Univision and Telemundo.
