Samsung Galaxy S8 to get Wireless In-Ear Headphones Feature

Samsung is relying on the upcoming Galaxy S8 to attract some of the customers that it lost with the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco. The company is trying to keep details about the phone secret, but information keeps pouring in.

The latest report comes from SamMobile and reveals that Samsung might launch wireless in-ear headphones for the Galaxy S8. It’s unclear at this point if the headphones will be provided in the box or if they will be an optional accessory, just like the S Pen.

Rumors say that Samsung intends to remove the 3.5mm headphone jack from the Galaxy S8, thus following in the footsteps of other smartphone manufacturers like Apple or Motorola. Apple’s AirPods weren’t that well received on the market and they reached stores a few weeks after the latest iPhone was announced. Still, their popularity has since started to increase and many are now using them.

The Galaxy S8 might also have an external S Pen accessory
Samsung’s move does seem to resemble Apple’s strategy, meaning that the South Korean company will be looking to compete directly against the iPhone, especially since its latest flagship failed to do so. The headphones could resemble the Gear IconX that Samsung announced this year.

Aside from wireless headphones, Samsung will also be providing the S Pen as an external accessory for the Galaxy S8, bringing all of its improvements and features from the Galaxy Note 7 to the upcoming flagship.

The Galaxy S8 is also rumored to come with software navigation keys with 3D Touch-like functionality, as the company intends to ditch the physical home screen for a smaller lower bezel. Moreover, the Galaxy S8 might come with Bixby AI integrated into all native applications, up to 8GB of RAM and UFS 2.1 flash storage.

Rumors do point towards a really exciting new flagship from Samsung, but it remains to be seen if these features will be confirmed when the phone is announced next year, possibly during a dedicated event in April.
